In My Shopping Bag: Pleated Skirt From ASOS!

Such a strange day today. I don't know if its the stormy Hamburg wind blowing outside the window that is making me feel restless, or the fact that I haven't bought anything since Saturday.
Probably the two together.  My Oniomania thrives in these conditions :)

So...to calm myself down a purchase must be!
This chiffon pleated skirt has been saved in my ASOS wishlist for a while now and when I saw the price reduced I had no other choice but add to my shopping bag.
What I love about this skirt is how it combines the color blocking trend with pastels and flirty chiffon.

 Already feeling better!

Go Shopping

If you like the skirt you can find it here. I've also put together a few of my favorite pleated skirts from different shops together. Most items are on SALE, so hurry up if you want one too!

Victoria Beckham Launches Prescription Glasses Range

The 38 year old fashion designer is adding an optical line to her fashion empire after two years of launching her sunglasses collection.  Failing to find specs that help her short-sightedness she declared it her mission to create the perfect pair.

"I do need to wear glasses - [but] I haven't found glasses that suit me or that I particularly like. I've always been quite self-conscious [about this], so that's why I've decided to do them myself."

Beckham has teamed up with London luxury Optometrists Cutler and Gross and created a six-piece collection of frames. The collection will feature different frame shapes including heavier-styles such as the unisex "Heavy Square" version that Mr. Beckham is reportedly a fan of, as well as more delicate styles with ultra-light aviators and bolder rectangular shapes. The frames are handcrafted in Italy out of metal and acetate. Each style comes in three color variations and a diamand faceted "V".
The range is expected to hit the stores early 2013 and will retail between €370 and €430.

About Cutler and Gross

The optometrists created the eyewear label in 1971 and started making their famous handcrafted models in their Knightsbridge store in London. Their reputation grew in the following decades with their unmistakably original frames, bringing prescription glasses into the luxury fashion circles.

I don't wear glasses myself, but here are a few that I would find tempting..
0772 Crystal
1013 Blue on Black
1030 Russian Blue
0772 Grad Black

1029 Red Turtle/Humble Potato
1029 Cola/ Trans Miele

At this point I must also point to the incredibly stylish sunglasses collection and the unique collaboration with big names like Maison Martin Margiela, Erdem or Alberta Ferretti. Since this post is rather about Victoria Beckham and eyeglasses, I will stop right here and come back to Cutler and Gross in another post dedicated to their wow shades!

You can buy Cutler and Gross online here. Also available at online stores such as Net-A-Porter and Eyegoodies

Label Spotlight: Blacky Dress Berlin

This is a label that definitely caught my attention! I only came to know Blacky Dress Berlin from the last Berlin Fashion Week and after seeing the Spring/Summer 2013 collection I’m already a huge fan!

Here are some of my favorite looks from the runway.

I am especially in love with the mix of metallic and pastels. The maxi pleated pastel skirt in ice blue combined with the golden peplum top is definitely my favorite and is already on my wishlist (alongside several other pieces).

Black& Whites are always a favorite. I love the simple yet edgy jumpsuit.

Blacky Dress showed the usual straight and clear lines combined with flirty Chiffon, Leathers and Lamé in a broad range of colors that resulted in a collection full of femininity with subtle sex-appeal.

Another highlight of this collection were the allover prints on jackets, pants and dresses. This one below is clearly my favorite!

Chef designer Kirsten Albers, born and educated in hometown Hamburg, has been head of Design since 1999. Before joining Blacky Dress she was a designer for Burda International, Pringle of Scotland, Elegance and Bernd Berger.

Albers' stylish sex-appeal signature style earned the label well deserved recognition and hopefully the attention of international fashion buyers.
This is great because so far I only found Blacky Dress in the breuninger online shop and nowhere near me in Hamburg.
However, if you are in or near Berlin your chances are much higher with two own stores, a few boutiques as well as Kadewe, Galeria Kaufhof and Peek&Cloppenburg selling the brand.

With growing success the brand will surely expand its distribution channels. Early this year, the first mono store was opened in Moscow and ten more openings are planned for next year.
Maybe even one in Hamburg?

Welcome Home: Two-Tone Platforms!

I had had my eyes on these Zara Heels for a while now and not just because of how cute they are! I needed something flashy that incorporated the color-block trend to finish off some (still) shoe-less summer outfits!
But typical Zara when you want something so bad: you snooze, you loose!

So...I was a happy girl when I found these platforms while rummaging TK-Maxx the other day. They aren't as  sleek as I wanted but they still fulfill their purpose.

These are my second pair from Bullboxer. The dutch shoe label is all about glamor, color and comfort at affordable prices. I will surely lookout for more of their designs.

Finally, my first blog post!

And it could have come earlier, but hey I’m new here and have been taking my time with the layout.. and although I am not quite finished and far from being familiar with blogger, I am gonna go ahead and start.
It’s time to give Oniomania a chance. ;)
